With support from DRC and funds from Sida, RAE women from Roma Mahalla, started with sewing and handicraft trainings
On 27/07/2016, with support from Danish Refugee Council and funded by Sida, NGO Women for Women International (WfWI) in cooperation with local NGO Gjuvljano Mangipe (GjM), started sewing trainings for RAE women of Roma Mahalla, Mitrovicë/a. DRC also offered 10 sewing machines and space (free of charge) for RAE women in Roma Mahalla.
This activity is part of the second component of the sub-project “Fostering Self-Reliance among Roma, Ashkali & Egyptian Women in Mitrovicë/a”. The second component foresees vocational trainings on sewing and handicrafts for a group of 13 RAE women from Roma Mahalla, which are very satisfied with the work of the trainer and are increasingly interested to learn new things.
The training sessions are being held every two weeks at the DRC Vocational Training Center, located in Roma Mahalla, and Mitrovicë/a.
All products made by RAE women will be exhibited at the Gjuvljano Mangipe showroom provided by DRC at the DRC Social Business Incubator and through different visits and fairs.
