Call for applications for the scholarship for completing secondary education

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) opened a call for applications for scholarships for young men and women from the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities in Kosovo for completing secondary education. Scholarships will be awarded to young people representing the above-mentioned ethnic groups who have fully completed primary school and/or dropped secondary school and who have a strong willingness to complete secondary education and will be committed to the scholarship requirements.

The scholarship will cover study fees and learning materials for eligible candidates during an academic year as well, if necessary, a daily allowance and transportation costs.

All those who are interested in completing secondary professional education and comply with the eligibility criteria listed below can benefit from this scholarship program. Young men and women who, for whatever reason, have dropped secondary education are encouraged to apply.

Applicants should meet the following eligibility criteria:

-          Be a young man or woman representing Roma, Ashkalia, or Egyptian ethnicity (18-35 years of age);

-          Be a resident of the municipality (including rural areas) in the Mitrovicë/a or Pristina regions;

-          Have certificate about the completion of primary school or a certificate of completion of any class from secondary education;

-          Your parents are getting social assistance from the social welfare department, or your parents are unemployed.

All applicants are invited to submit the following documents:

- A copy of the primary school completion certificate.

- A copy of certificate of completed high school classes (if any completed).

- A copy of a valid ID card.

- A copy of proof that they are beneficiaries of the social scheme.
